PRE-NATAL & post-natal
With 6 children between us we know that exercise during pregnancy can be daunting. Firstly, the internet is full of conflicting advice and secondly finding the motivation can be challenging. We want to support women through this time of change. We offer fun and varying classes that maintain overall strength during pregnancy while preparing the body, and in particular the pelvic floor, for birth. While some exercises incorporate pilates apparatus others can be learnt and practiced at home. Maximum class size of 8.
We both discovered pilates as a means of healing our bodies after giving birth. Having seen how it helped us both physically and mentally we are true advocates of post-natal pilates. We adapt exercises in order to help those with conditions such as diastasis recti while strengthening the muscles of the power house including the abdominals, back, pelvic floor, inner thighs and bottom. We also work to strengthen the upper back in order to open the chest and lengthen the hamstrings, which can become short and week with extensive periods of sitting.
Post-natal Workshop – 6 weeks
This 6-session course aims to gently re-awaken the abdominal muscles and the pelvic-floor as well as strengthening the back, inner thighs and bottom in order to help stabalize the pelvis after birth. We open the chest, lengthen the hamstrings and aim to alleviate any other aches and pains. With a maximum class size of three, we design the classes around our clients specific needs and incorporate large equipment including the Reformer, MVe Chairs, Mat and Tower as well as myofascial release balls, half-barrels, exercise mats and light weights. Babies welcome.
Aimed for busy mums who can’t commit to the post-natal course or those mums who would sometimes like to come more than once a week, this Drop-in class takes an overall approach to the post-natal body strengthening the abdominals, back, pelvic floor, inner thighs and bottom, while also opening the chest and lengthening the hamstrings. With a maximum class size of three, classes incorporate both large and small equipment and take place in the Group Reformer room. Babies welcome.
Group mat classes aimed at mums with babies and children six-months and older. We combine the classical Pilates mat sequence with additional exercises that specifically help with postpartum issues such as an ongoing diastisis recti or weak pelvic floor. Many mums return to their exercise regimes without addressing postpartum changes to their bodies and these can cause issues, such as Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Urinary Incontinence and Anal Incontinence either after birth or later in life. To make it worse there is very little discussion or openly available advice on these subjects, leaving many mums to worry, stagnate and suffer in silence. We really hope that this class will help mums to strengthen their bodies and alleviate health problems in a supportive, caring and fun environment. This class is just for you.
