Communities can be built on shared passions, friendships, mutual support and kindness. At Stavanger Pilates we honour Joseph Pilates by providing a movement system for all. We aim to connect your mind to your body and help you become a stronger, more aware and happier version of your self. Through Pilates we also connect people and as a place where clients feel welcome, enriched, healthier and part of a greater community. We are excited to contribute to Stavanger Øst and the city as a whole.
Here we share testimonials, blog posts and open up the forum to our clients. By adding #stavangerpilates to any post you become part of our story.
We made our home in Stavanger Øst because it’s a fun, creative and vibrant neighbourhood that has so much to offer once you step outside the studio door.
A skip away is Tou Scene – the old brewery turned creative arts and performance space, which kick-started Stavanger Øst’s transformation from gritty industrial area into a flourishing urban district. Taking an evening class? Meet some friends afterwards at the bar, ØST. Or head to FORTOU (winner of #byas best takeway in 2018), which has just relocated to a bigger premises overlooking Lervigtunet Park.
If you fancy a coffee after class (or even better, while the kids are taking a class) many of our neighbours offer a brilliant brew as well as tasty food. Kanelsnurren has just opened a new café/bakery at Ryfylkegaten 22. Opposite is Ostehuset Øst, a perennial favourite, while in the Innovation Dock you’ll find Jakobs Brød a cosy, eco-friendly bakery and cafe. KaffeKanna serves coffee by day and switches to candle-lit wine bar at night while the achingly cool Fermenten, set in an old canning factory, serves locally produced food and drink in a family friendly atmosphere. It’s located right next to Freedome too, perfect for combining a trip to Pilates with a bounce on the trampolines.
From the studio you can run along the waterfront, find a quiet bench overlooking the park or compliment your Pilates with a yoga class at our neighbours Jivamukti Yoga. Grab your groceries at EXTRA, COOP or IMS (the big bunches of fresh herbs are fab), get your haircut at the luxuriant Apres, order some flowers from the uber talented Stilken & Strøm or take the kids to one of the fantastic new playgrounds that dot the neighbourhood. They’ll have fun spotting all the street art by Nuart along the way.
We’re so excited to be part of this thriving, expanding, eclectic neighbourhood and really hope our clients will enjoy exploring it too.
